The Train that redefined luxurious travel lives on in an opulent die-cast classic
The year was 1925. The event was the maiden voyage of The Crescent Limited. And all agreed that there was no finer train than the one designed to pamper passengers between Washington, D.C. and New Orleans. In fact, people were soon willing to pay a handsome premium for such superior accomodations.
Now, this deluxe Pullman locomotive is reborn in an authentic replica that recaptures the rich contrast of the white and "Virgin Green" chassis. The elegant touches of gold, brass fittings and intricate metalwork of the 4-6-2 wheel configuration. From the distinctive red cab roof to the coupler between engine and tender, this is an extraordinary replica to the last detail.
You can run this fully operational model on a standard HO track. And display your replica on its rich hardwood base, fitted with track and a brass nameplate.
Notes:
The Crescent train is an actual electric working locomotive in green and came in a very nice green box. It came on a plinth with a length of track mounted on it to sit the model on.
Not a popular model for yesteryear collectors who it was aimed at and for some reason it was not very popular with train enthusiasts either. It was a real working electric train in HO scale but I suppose without carriages available to go with it, it was incomplete for them. The box is very nice in the same shade of green
The train measures 12-3/8" long, including coupling hooks, and 2" at the highest.
